چکیده

Purpose The rational time for intubation during early mandibular distraction osteogenesis (MDO) in infants is unknown. To investigate the differences clinical outcomes following MDO before and after a standardized extubation protocol implementation infants. Methods A retrospective cohort study was performed infant patients under 1 year old undergoing MDO. population composed of all presenting evaluation management who underwent between November 2016 February 2021. We divided them into 2 groups: pre-protocol group group. inpatient charts were assessed. primary outcome respiratory events extubation. secondary duration mechanical ventilation (MV), postoperative length stay (LOS), success rate first Other variables included age, sex, weight, height, information related to diagnosis, distraction, anesthesia, operation. logistic regression model linear used calculate unadjusted adjusted relative risk (RR) mean difference (MD) associations groups outcomes. Results There 142 135 heavier weight than those (P Conclusions Among MDO, standardization practices can reduce compared with traditional management.

Respiratory management after self-extubation.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Self-extubation is a potentially life-threatening event, but may also provide an opportunity to wean patients who should have been extubated earlier. The purpose of this study was to determine the risk factors for re-intubation after self-extubation. METHODS The medical charts of 69 self-extubated patients treated in Shin Kong Hospital, Taipei, from September 1996 throu...

Analysis of Respiratory Behavior and Clinical Parameters for Successful Extubation in Premature Infants

Background The weaning process is complex and needs to be done carefully. The success of extubation in premature babies is associated with brain maturity and adequate function of the lungs. We aimed to identify the ventilator parameters and clinical conditions related to extubation success and failure in premature infants. Materials and Methods This is anobservational study, analytical and non-...

spontaneously, 106 patients were randomized to 1 h CPAP or 1 h T-piece/ZEEP, following which patients were extubated and mask 0, administered. No significant difference existed between groups in age, sex, HR, BP, Flo, PaCO, or PaO,. However, P(A-a)02 was significantly greater at 120 mm in the CPAP group. Within the CPAP gsoup, P(A-a)O, was also significantly worse at 120 vs 0 mm. Nineteen Tpiec...

High-flow Nasal Cannulae in Very Preterm Infants after Extubation

BACKGROUND The use of high-flow nasal cannulae is an increasingly popular alternative to nasal continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) for noninvasive respiratory support of very preterm infants (gestational age, <32 weeks) after extubation. However, data on the efficacy or safety of such cannulae in this population are lacking. METHODS In this multicenter, randomized, noninferiority trial...
